| The agile footwork found in northern Chinese martial arts blends with the intricate hand techniques of the south in this traditional Shaolin martial arts system that includes elements of the five animals – Tiger, Dragon, Crane, Leopard and Snake. You’ll get in depth training of a variety of techniques; from long and short range punches, kicks and sweeps to takedowns and pressure point attacks. Taught in two segments, this DVD first covers the 18 LouHan Chi Kung exercises used to develop and focus your internal energy. These unique exercises use a large ball to aid the path and focus of the movements. The second segment covers partner practice similar to that of Push Hands and Chin Na where students pair off and work through a series of partner applications using internal energy and the principles of Choy Li Fut. Fifth generation disciple of the founder of Choy Li Fut, Cheng Yongfa, presents these techniques in a personal, seminar format. He teaches primarily in English, and uses the Cantonese names for the different movements.
